Does anyone have a suggestion of which remote I could buy? Preferrably at China. Any help is appreciated, even pointing me at sample code that I could modify for my purposes.Īnd I think it does not hurt to ask - I found the IR remote to be kind of troublesome because you need to point to the exact spot on the camera, so I am looking for a wired remote that could start/stop video recording and maybe even other functions. So I am looking for a module that does this: can start and stop recording videos with my remote.Ĭan someone help me? I have got the lua module installed and if it does the job, a script would suffice instead of a module. I contacted user SDX and he said he does not even have the source anymore. I could not use it in my magic lantern (Canon EOS 60D, 1.1.1 firmware) because it said the API was 2.0 and it needs 6.0. "I never HEARD of such a thing (from the news).I was looking for a way to make my 1-mode remote (this type - it does not have the switch at the back to change triggering modes: ) be able to shoot videos I found an old discussion here - where user SDX said it had developed a module for recording with half-shutter.

"Update Culture" leading the way towards "The Great Unsupporting" ?

If the 60d-and-friends platform will not be looked at due to time budgeting, I am quite OK with the present now and into the future, but thought it beneficial to allow ML to avoid having certain cameras bricked for use with ML just because the previous owner from craigslist thought it would be good or polite to update their old camera's firmware before selling it. I saw the update when it was released in 2016 and thought that it would be eventually looked at, so I chose to wait five years before I consumed the time of the Magic Lantern Developers by asking for an ML update for the Canon 60d/t3i/7d camera software platforms, all three cameras have their differences, but somehow are each still capable of sharing the same utility which they held when they were brand-new, as long as I can feed them batteries and avoid chugging the shutter with RAW time-lapse sequence capture projects too much. I am hesitant to commit to a likely-permanent firmware update, if it will risk the ability of the camera to boot Magic Lantern. I read that this 1.1.2 update may (silently) remove the 4GB movie recording limitation from the 60d platform, in addition to the publicly disclosed changes.
